Daily thoughts on the world's most profound insights of the human condition as discovered in the Bible by William Bode. The Bible is about Jesus from Genesis to Revelation and everything in between. When I read the Bible I see the most honest view of my heart and human condition. Be careful--after you get past the poor grammar, bad spelling and punctuation there is some life changing truth I'm uncovering every day! 'the following' are people of The Way, those who claim to be following Jesus.

Jesus turned around and looked at his disciples, then reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan!” he said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”
Jesus understands show learners. Having struggle with leading followers who don't get it. Join the club that Jesus founded. But take heart. If this is the experience of the Son of God went do you think you'll have it easier. And then consider that He hand picked his crew. Bet you dint have that privilege. Read and know that Jesus sympathises with you.
Mark 8:14-21 NLT
But the disciples had forgotten to bring any food. They had only one loaf of bread with them in the boat. As they were crossing the lake, Jesus warned them, “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod.” At this they began to argue with each other because they hadn’t brought any bread. Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said, “Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don’t you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in? ‘You have eyes—can’t you see? You have ears—can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all? When I fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread, how many baskets of leftovers did you pick up afterward?” “Twelve,” they said. “And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?” “Seven,” they said. “Don’t you understand yet?” he asked them.
We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.

This is a difficult passage of the Bible to say the least. What does it mean? Why is it in here. Was it kept? Who would you give and have killed?
Satan is called the "prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2. He is the "ruler of this world" in John 12:31.
I've recently started reading Job. It is said Job is the first book of the Bible to be written. Everything written by Moses covering the events of the world's creation, the flood, and all the patriarchs was written no less then 450 years after the fact and some far more than a thousand years later.
Don't you think that it is interesting that Satan is a prominent character in the first story about man in the garden and here again Satan is essentially character number two in the story of Job. Obviously God is character number one in every case.
And while I'm on this trend I'd like to point out that Jesus in the gospel of Matthew right after he is baptised, he is led by the Holy Spirit to an encounter with Satan. And Satan 'jets' Jesus around and Satan claims he has power.
So here we are in Job. God spurs Satan on to have a go at Job.
And what happens?
Thieves, raiders, 'the fire of God' from heaven and wind.
These came from Satan.
Then disease. That came from Satan too.
Can natural disasters come from Satan?
Obviously God is in control and he allowed Satan the power. But should we consider that big events, wars, and so called 'acts of God' are actually acts of Satan, the prince and power of the air.
Something to think about.

Blessed by the inability to communicate.
How is it that God's mercy and grace are expressed in the confusion of language?
